Insurance Benefits
All members are entitled to insurance benefits that will protect you from any accidental death or disability that occurred on any job related duties.

Our insurance benefit covers you while commuting to and from, or participating in any assigned duties, training, or meetings. Law Enforcement officers are covered if injured or killed while attempting to prevent a crime both on and off duty. This benefit will pay in addition to any work related benefits such as workers compensation. [top]

RPOA Death and Disability Fund
This is a fund separate from the disability insurance fund maintained by RPOA. This fund is available for all current members who are disabled or killed while performing official duties. After the application is submitted by the member or the members family or agency, a determination will be made by RPOA. The monies will be paid to either the member or the member's family. RPOA Scholarship
Members and their families are eligible for a scholarship for college or university study. One scholarship is awarded once a year. Applications are available by contacting the RPOA. [top]

Financial Assistance for Equipment and Training
Financial assistance for training and equipment is available to member organizations. Requirements are:

(1)
All members of the organization must be current members of RPOA.
(2)
Request must be approved by organization head or chief in writing on official stationary.
(3)
A written statement following the usual report writing procedure who, what, when, where, why and how) must be submitted to RPOA.

Limited Legal Financial Assistance
Limited legal financial assistance is available for current members who are involved in a civil or criminal legal action while performing their assigned duties in good faith. Assistance will be determined on a case by case basis. A letter stating the individual was on official duty when the event occurred must accompany requests for assistance. This letter must be sent on the business stationary from the attorney representing the officer along with all bills pertaining to the legal action. [top]
